In accordance with EU directive of September 2008 - as effective of 16th October 2009 that obligate producers to mount in new cars day lights will be enforced new regulations in the whole of member states - regardless of pass lights.
According to EU officials the regulations will cause that car will be more visible in the daylight, and because of that the safety on the roads will improve. However, in many countries - including Poland - people are obliged to drive with the lights turned on during the day throughout the year and there is no clear data that would indicate the impact that this has on the reduction in the number of accidents.
Car manufacturers ensure that the introduction of these articles will not result in an increase in prices.
